As far as my opinion is concerned
about this poem the title of the poem “Zankhana” suggests its connotation.so
when an individual takes bird’s view he/she gets an idea that what poet is
willing to express and the interpretation of the readers becomes crystal clear
about the poem. This poem comprises six stanzas having 2 lines of each.
Moreover, in the first three stanzas there is a usage of Natural objects hence
here the Archetypal images can be visualized such as River, autumn
while on the other side rest of the stanzas deal with deeper possessing
philosophical concepts including his willingness to have his beloved.
In First Stanza poet
describes the image of river that river
wants to meet the see. In reality when river meets with the sea at that time
there is no river at all . apart from this things river have a desire to meet
with sea. And at last river lost his existence on there flow. and once the
river meet ocean the same water never meet again to see.
So poet puts river’s
image as a archetype.
Here in the second
stanza poet also puts autumn Tree as archetypal symbol. As we know that the color
green that shows the greenway and youth. But here this autumn tree shows the
sadness and he go together. How a tree is also waiting for autumn , yet it is
not good for the tree.
“ If you know sadness
, than and then you understand the importance of happiness”
Here it is also the same way undesirable things
poet wants to presents . here poet discuss day and night , there is two
different things. That one side is day and on the other side there is night ,
but day have a desire to meet night and day touches the night , it is
impossible things.
Apart from this it is all unsuccessful things, that is never
happens .
Here poet put himself
in this line. Here there is appeal to his beloved. Poet wants to touch the hand
of his beloved for poet it is the new
life. Contextually poet describes the idea.
The subjectivity
presents here , poet addresses himself . there is needless need for
poet. With this way poet also describes that love is not with physical beauty
but with feelings and emotions and with experience of the life that he has with
his beloved.
Here the same poet also puts the same idea in this stanza.
Here in this line poet shows the he wants to live in the heart of his beloved, poet need space like ‘ Ashiyana’
. yet he know the reality that it is
impossible. At last it is the desire.
Last line that
suggests that the poet can’t understand
his beloved , with his feeling and emotions. So it is unfulfilled.
Here poet clear that , his love is not make his beloved to engaged with the
poet in deeper sense of feelings of love.
So , we conclude that , in the poem poet takes two elements
together which is paradoxical words like ocean and , day and night , spring and autumn. And also
those things becomes the symbol for with the archetypes because those things are like ..
“ Walk together but can’t meet”
